GW are selling for a vey limited time (1 week) some 40k models incl. a chaplain on bike. Not sure about all of them (as was never really into 40k)but pretty sure the 2 terminator armour models are recasts of some really old miniatures as I think the inquisitor and daemon hunter were from late 80/early 90s when I first got into GW..

Mark GW have started to produce oop models that are Made to Order, they've been doing it for a month or so now, this is the third batch, they go up for one week or if there are strong sales, longer. If you keep an eye on the Made to Order section there's going to be loads of other stuff released. You can also vote for stuff on GW's Facebook groups if there are models you missed first time around.

Ah that makes more sense. Thought it was just a xmas thing. Is it just 40k models or potentially any of their range?

24 February sees the release of the Kings of War supplement: Clash of Kings. They had previously released a 13 page CoK comp pack but this is an official book that apparently removes 3 of the existing magic items (the +1 to hit shooting one, ensorcelled armour and the medallion of life), adds 10 new magic items, 6 scenarios and 3 spells. There are other updates such as rules around flyers and disordered and tweaks to some of the existing scenarios and to the spell bane chant (no change to melee casting but you need to get 2 dice rolls to impact shooting). The other notable change is that previously unmodified 4+ to hit rolls (namely fireball/lightning) are now impacted my cover modifiers. Now I'm not sure if these are optional rules (such as when some were in the CoK 2016 pack) or will be errata'd.

If anyone (else) has been waiting for Forged in Battle to release the figures from their second Ancients Kickstarter - Early and Mid-Imperial Romans, Dacians, Sassanids, Saxons, Vandals and Visigoths - these have now been added to the company's website.

One nice point I noticed is that 8th edition will not be compatible with any current codex all will become obsolete on release. GW will be withdrawing all current books "soon". Super !

A lovely bit of spin from GW Can I still use all my models? Yes. Every Warhammer 40,000 miniature we sell today will be usable in the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. What’s more, they’ll be supported with new rules, which will be available from the get go in handy, low-cost books. Shall i translate You will need to buy a new book for each of your armies to use them fully

Very similar to the demise of WFB 8th. All those lovely End Times books made redundant overnight, some only had a "shelf/playing life" of 6 months or less.
This was partially offset by the rules for AOS being FREE. However a year down the line with AOS & the books are gradually coming back, albeit at a cheaper price. At least you will not have to re-base your 40K models.

Always remember that rules never go out of date if there is the will to play the edition you love. I'm personally enjoying exploring the 40K background so I'm not bothered about theb change up as the story is moving on and it maybe not as radical as the change with AoS the 40K galaxy is going to look very different here's how it looks now.. Warp Storms everywhere, this is great if you're into story though if you are a gamer well the wallet will hurt I'm sure and they'll be much frustration expressed in the meantime. But 40K is not just a game is it?
