Dear all, I was contacted by M*x ( got to be careful with data protection) with the result of the first 15mm semi final. M*x played *eil, and was lucky to gain the initiative. He pushed hard, meaning N*il ran out of space to evade with his skirmishing chariots. *ax was concerned about the centre, as Ne*l had better infantry than *ax's. However, the curse of Hobday dice came into play, and where *** thought he was going to lose, he threw high and *eil threw low, meaning that *** crushed ****. Well played, so M** goes through to the final.
PS, ( it was Max against Neil)

*eil's real problem was on his right flank where his light chariots and archers faced against Mx's cavalry.
The cavalry hit the light chariots which were slightly forward of the supporting bow, so the light chariots were overlapped in the first round of combat and in the subsequent rounds the bow were unable to move to support the chariots as this would have meant contacting the overlapping cavalry frontally. The chariots managed to hold their own for a couple of rounds, but were then overwhelmed. (That said, Ne*l's ability to roll 1s at critical points - and in some cases two or three 1s in succession - didn't help.)
Meanwhile, in the 25mm part of the forest, Steve L and Ken, battered each other to a mutual break (and a replay).
