Coaches
As the season draws to a close, with only a few more games left, we start to look to the next season with hope in our eyes and ultraviolence in our hearts. At the conclusion of this season (date to be decided, but it'll be shortly after the final is played) coaches who wish to take their teams into the next season are requested to complete end of season procedure as found on pages 58 and 60 of the Almanac.
What you will need to do at the conclusion of this season is complete steps 2, 3 and 4 of the Resolving Downtime section (Roll for injuries, fan factor and work out your treasury for next season). Once you've done this please submit a final Team Sheet (on the spreadsheet teamsheets we've been using this season) with your TOTAL treasury for next season in the treasury section. We are not expecting you guys to pick your teams for next season, simply to provide us with a final account of this season's team and the amount of gold you will have to spend next season.
Please try and make all the necessary rolls at the end of your last game
Completed sheets are to be sent to selwigresults@protonmail.com
Obviously if coaches don't want their teams to carry over there's no obligation to and y'all can create teams from scratch as normal next season.
Nuffle's blessings coaches

A special request:- for the less able teams could we not revert back to season 1 format where we had home and away games in the league section of the season, that way at least some teams would have 6 games?
It is a long wait to play after you get knock out in the league stage. Speaking from experience;-(.

I'll second that, even though I struggled to play all my games this year, next year I'll try and be more organised. Could we also think about changing the friendly games rules again, lol Some teams need more games to play well.

The problem was when we played that format most players didn't complete their games (and when I say most players I mean nearly all of you...) This led to a couple of teams pulling a long way ahead in terms of both money and experience. Also, there is no wait to play, you can play as many friendly games (accruing both experience and cash) right up until the end of the league...
This being said, nothing is set in stone and the format for next year is still to be decided and we wont make any choices right now.

I don’t mind the home and away rules but as someone with limited club time then I’d have to reconsider entering as I was one who failed to get all my games in the first season and it would be unfair to my opponents to enter knowing I’d struggle to play them (and it’s why myself and a few others didn’t play any friendlies this year). That said, part of the reason was trying to get peeps to commit to league games when they were just wanting friendlies to beef up their teams initially (and I was initially guilty of this).
So I’m favouring completely limiting the number of friendlies a team is allowed to play whilst they are still in the competition (when knocked out, then restrictions are removed). This would add a further tactical consideration of, do you play all the friendlies at the start to try and get cash/skills or save one or two in case your team takes a pasting and you need to try and recoup players in between crucial games.
It would also help to try and limit the differences in values between some teams as enducements are good but they don’t counter lack of skills.
Also with teams now carrying over skills/players into the new season, have you considered allowing brand new teams to either get a few limited skills or bit of extra gold to again help offset the TV difference? I’m not saying going as far as the one off comps like the recent warboar but 1-2 general skills and/or 50k gold would really help some teams starting off. (And perhaps change the number using the tier system)
I of course, like most, have a biased slant on this and my peace bound ogre colleague ‘knuckles’ will be happy to explain my position in greater detail, after the club shuts, whilst he walks you safely home through the dangerous Catford streets.
