I understand that this is a by-word in Malifaux model-building for things that ridiculously small, fiddly, awkward and leave you wondering why they designed the model that way.
I now offer up 'By Abuela's Pipe'! This has the same basic meaning. Abuela is a 7SS model on a small base. She comes in 20 (yes, twenty) parts. These include the head being in 2 parts, a hat that is made of 4 parts, a single hand (a Malifaux trademark), and a pipe. Not only is the pipe smaller than the width of any one of my (admittedly slightly pudgy) digits, but the mounting point in Abuela's mouth is only measurable in microns.
My own Abuela has joined the anti-smoking lobby!
If you don't believe me go to Wyrd's site, click Community, Resources, Building Instructions and search for Abuela.

For me it was the Zombie Chihuahua - the finished model is around the size of one of my fingernails but comes in four (!) parts - including a tail and a paw. TO add insult to the frustration there is a Dead Canine that comes on the same sprue that is in just 2 pieces.
It is less the apparent pointless over complication of the pieces that really annoys me and more two other issues. Firstly they seldom seem to think about where to put joins. The Hodgepodge Emissary is loaded down with items of baggage, many of which come in two or three pieces. You can therefore end up with beautifully contoured wicker panniers with strange solid lines in the contouring. Secondly, and Abuela looks like a good example, the instructions are not that good. I would, logically, think to build the chair first and then sit the model in it, but looking closely at the picture you will see that there is a slight curve inside the chair meaning that the main pieces need to go together around the body. SO, does the torso go on to the legs before or after it goes into the chair? When should you glue the hand and the shotgun on? Would it really be so difficult to add a few extra instructions on the order of the steps to be taken?
Despite my moaning, the majority of the models have gone together very easily and once they are done they are done. They usually paint up well, and it is a fun game. But probably one of those where it is even better than normal if you can pick up your crew from e-bay!

Mike,
I thought from the instructions that you needed to fit the chair round the body. But having done that I realised that I couldn't get Abuela's arms to fit. I therefore prised her out of the chair. What isn't really visible on the picture is that there is a ledge, that looks like an arm-rest, about halfway up the inside of each chair half. The model sits on this ledge, not on the bottom of the chair! In this position everything is really well-placed.
Last night I assembled a 10SS model on a 50mm base. 7 pieces - less than 10 minutes work. Easy-peasy.
