So I'm beginning to build test and paint my dwarves up so thought I'd add a little thread here to document the growth.
I'm going for super quick combat dwarves with a minor bit of shooting.
Currently the list stands at:
Big block of hammerers with vanguard.
Big block of quarrelers to be joined by bsb giving them vanguard
Block of Irondrakes with vanguard
Rangers
Gyrocopter
Characters as see fit.
The final decision on everything needs to be done by March and should have a display board of beardy proportions and some lovely painted dwarves! Keep watching the forums for updates

Fantasy for this one, March is the Triple Crown Fantasy Tournament. Though until my soulblight is ready I'll probably run them for AoS as well.

So I've begun finalising the details on my dwarfs. At the moment the list (2500) stands at
Runelord, rune of spellbreaking, runes of +1 T and 5++, silver horn of vengance
Runesmith, 2x rune of spellbreaking
Bsb, rune of Valaya, strollaz and stoicism
Grimm Burliksson
35 quarrellers, full command
10 dwarf warriors, shield and banner
35 Hammerers, standard, musician, rune of strollaz and slowness
Gyrocopter, vanguard
15 irondrakes, full command, trollhammer torpedo, rune of strollaz and sanctuary
5x Rangers
5x Rangers
The idea is that the whole army bar dwarf warriors (core tax) starts on the 12" line, with a pretty powerful volley to decimate any chaff units, then they take the charge with the big blocks both being stubborn, and whatever survives gets counter charged with the horn being on the opening charges to get the extra attacks.
I've also begun planning the display board and bases so I'll get some ics of those up when I get a chance and if the pictures come out well.

The first set of bases for the Hammerers. I've tried for a mosaic type effect to go with the display board I'm building. Not quite achieved the effect but I quite like the turn out, will need to add some extra details to see what can happen.  Dan |
